  • Destiny D.
    Veterinary Assistant

Destiny has always passionately loved working with animals. In high school, she shadowed at various veterinary hospitals to get a glimpse of animal medicine. In college, she volunteered at the Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center and worked with sea turtles and seals. After graduating from the University of New England with a bachelor's degree in Animal Behavior, she decided to travel and experience many different wildlife internships and jobs to see what was out there. Saving cranes in Wisconsin, field work in Hawaii tracking endangered forest birds, and zookeeping kept Destiny busy for several years before she decided to move back to Maine. Now she is furthering her education to obtain her license as a veterinary technician so she can hopefully someday combine her love for exotic animals and being a tech. Her other passions include thrifting, traveling, spending all day at the beach with a book and going to concerts. She is a proud dog mom to Gracie, a 5.5 year old husky/German shepherd mix. Destiny is eager to continue learning and to be a part of the BAH team.   Picture coming soon!
